MUSIC EDUCATION FOR PRESCHOOL, ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS
Synopsis
The present volume entitled Music Education for Preschool, Elementary and High School Students, is the result of the effort, dedication and academic-pedagogical interest of the students of the Music Education Approaches class, a subject that is part of the 2017 Study Plan of the Bachelor's Degree in Music at the Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes. In that course, the students of the 2017-2022 generation had an approach to several educational-musical proposals of an active nature, which establish the foundations for the integral musical development of the child. Thus, they had the opportunity to experience a little of the musical education approach of Émile Jaques-Dalcroze (1865-1950), who proposed the development of musicality through bodily rhythm, solfège and improvisation; and they were able to learn about the educational-musical contributions of Carl Orff (1895-1982), who proposed the educational-instrumental practice through ostinati, corporal percussion, a diversity of percussion instruments, as well as instruments created ex profeso, to be used by children, such as xylophones, metallophones and glockenspiels (chimes).
