POETRY FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS

Many young people develop an aversion to literature, and especially to poetry, because of the inadequate way in which many teachers deal with these subjects. This deprives children of a fundamental aspect of their development. When I was young, I was fortunate to have an excellent teacher teach me to enjoy the beauty of good poetry. I was then able to introduce my children to this field myself, and I recently relived the experience with my older grandchildren: this work is the result. There are valuable anthologies of poetry for children and young people, but I intend these pages to bring something original. Written initially for my children and grandchildren, they may be useful for elementary, middle and high school teachers who think it is worthwhile to try to give their students the exciting experience of enjoying good quality poetic texts.
