ATLAS OF RARE AND FANTASTICAL SKIN DISEASES: Tales of Love, Terror, Skin, and Nails
Synopsis
In this Atlas, you will embark on an ambivalent journey between the horror of rare diseases and the wonder of fantastic literary expressions that, through their exquisite genius, our author delivers to us and provoke the instinctive stimulation of a kaif: that "your skin prickles." It is a fascinating journey that invites immersion and involvement with its protagonists, their sufferings, and the longings of their hearts or egos: achieved, lost, desired, and frustrated, or not.
This work is designed to be enjoyed by three types of readers. On one hand, the informed reader in the field of medicine will find the texts filled with references to anatomical and morbid processes of human skin; on the other hand, the more experienced literary reader will observe through the layering of scenes, in the manner of changes in verb tenses, the protagonist's emotions: navigating the uncertainty of their diagnosis, the peace in death, and the sadness in their new life. Finally, the first-time reader will enjoy a grim and interesting text, with shades of horror and bitterness.
The author shows us how, from such a human process as illness, we experience emotions, especially two: love and fear. The love stories are far from being romantic, and they experience it in a real way, through narratives in imaginary but everyday settings. Adameck creatively explores various everyday scenarios of love through the skin of his characters. Fear, on the other hand, lurks in the shadows in some stories of this fantastic Atlas in various forms.
