ART, CULTURE AND SOCIETY: Provocations, interventions and investigations
Synopsis
This work was developed as a continuation of the presentation given by Barrios-Mendoza (2018) at the First Interdisciplinary Arts Day, entitled: "An Expanded Sense of Transduction in Contemporary Art." In it, the need to study in greater depth the use of transduction processes in art was exposed, since, although they have been used repeatedly by different artists around the world, reflection on these processes has not enjoyed the same popularity as their practical applications.
On this occasion, the main objective is to approach a definition of transduction in art, based on a term coined by Robert Mallary (1969), transductive art, 50 years ago, as well as on some elements of Gilbert Simondon's philosophical project.
