LEAN MANUFACTURING IN THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY IN MEXICO
Synopsis
The beginning of the third decade of the current millennium is generating uncertainty in most manufacturing companies, particularly in those companies that make up the automotive industry, not only in Mexico but in any other country around the world, since the covid-19 pandemic that global society is still suffering from, left countless families without one of its members, but also left thousands of companies out of the market, since families not only had to bury part of their members, but also their assets resulting from the effort of many years. Likewise, large international corporations were also affected by the ravages caused by the covid-19 pandemic, since the contraction that the world market is suffering is forcing them to rethink their business strategies to be more competitive.
Under this scenario, more and more manufacturing companies in the Mexican automotive industry are adopting and implementing lean manufacturing as an effective business strategy, which can support them not only in reducing production costs and improving product quality, but also in increasing their levels of economic and financial performance, especially because lean manufacturing is a teamwork methodology based on the elimination of waste generated in production processes, as well as in the priority attention to the main needs of customers and consumers, which allows manufacturing companies both a significant increase in the level of productivity and quality, as well as in their level of financial performance.
