OUR CONSTRUCTION OF THE WORLD: Notes on contemporary education and society 2022 editorial columns and speeches
Synopsis
"Our Construction of the World: Notes on Education and Contemporary Society" culminates a six-year project aimed at rescuing and publishing - in a long-lasting printed format - the speeches and editorials produced from 2017 to 2022 by the Rector of the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes, headed during that period by Dr. Francisco Javier Avelar González.
In total, the six volumes of this collection selected nearly 150 reflections (from almost 300), focused on issues of great social interest, related to problems, values, perspectives, and questions of contemporary society in general, and the education system in particular. It is noteworthy how, in the treatment of each topic, a call for introspective reflection, rational empathy, conciliation, and humanism prevailed; without falling into the easy and safe path of being condescending to the mythologies and hegemonic ideological positions of our time (for example, those emerging from the so-called wokeness) which - from my humble perspective - in the last two decades have ended up mimicking, at least in form, what they claimed to combat.
