Synopsis

When we conceived this publishing project, we thought more of a parallel and distinct work to traditional closing reports, which would show from a set of diverse perspectives how the work of the university was perceived during the referred period and what our possible areas of opportunity are. This perspective introduces a novelty compared to other works produced as Memoirs at the end of an administrative period: we took the risk of having other people - and not the Rector's Communication team - write here what they wanted, regarding a handful of proposed topics; namely: the work of the UAA in terms of social commitment and human rights, in terms of strengthening academic quality, in the main management tasks and in relation to the defense of university autonomy. For the project, we invited more than twenty people - from inside and outside the UAA - specialists in education, human rights, administrative management and infrastructure. Of them, 15 responded and gave us their collaboration, to whom we are very grateful for taking the time to reflect on this house of studies and leave the imprint of their perspectives.
