BODY, PLEASURE AND DESIRE: An ethnographic look at homoeroticism in Aguascalientes
Synopsis
Problematizing a sexual meeting place for men as a productive environment for subjects, bodies and subjectivities, invites us to analyze the practices of homosociality and homoeroticism that take place in an affirmative and at the same time normative space.
The present text reports on a series of homoerotic encounters and practices recorded and experienced in a Spa with a gay profile located in Aguascalientes. Through ethnographic recording and in-depth interviews, we observe different elements of homosociality that make visible how hegemonic discourses around gender, sexuality, desire and pleasure are reproduced, questioned and/or subverted within situated logics and dynamics.
